Healing Woman said...: It's interesting to me that you have planted so many things in containers. Maybe it is what I should be doing. The voles and other varmits seem to destroy my gardens from under the ground each year. I've had a sparse harvest of beans and tomatoes. Maybe I'll go out and get some whiskey barrels and do some above ground planting like you did. Thanks for the inspiration!; May 16, 2011 at 4:28 AM
Francie said...: Cheryl, I plant in containers because the ground in my property is rock hard clay. It's the result of "development" twenty-plus years ago. I'd love to do in-ground gardening, but it's just impossible. I've found my containers produce a small, but adequate amount of food for us. More containers are always an option, and that's what I'm aiming for.; May 16, 2011 at 4:58 AM

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,

whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.
