New kid on board...

This is our newest family member... rescued from our neighbor's back yard. Her brother and sister are still at large, and, unfortunately, have become even more evasive after seeing their sister disappear. She's still pretty feral, but definitely loves being petted - after just a few strokes, she turns the purr machine on full blast. She just came home from the vet last night, after having her operation, and getting shots and blood work done. She's a little sore, not to mention freaked, and, I'm sure she misses her siblings as well. We have her confined to the computer room, and I'm spending buckets of time with her. Domenico, the most mellow of all of our cats, is in here with us, so she's getting a small taste of what's in store for her on the other side of the door! Several of the others are scratching at the door, trying to come in and investigate. We're sensing some tension among the others, but that's par for the course whenever a newcomer is introduced. It's going to be an interesting time around here for the next few months. We don't have a name for her yet. As some of you know, we always name our cats after musicians, composers, opera characters, etc. Since we'll be having a trio here, we're looking for an operatic "love triangle", a source rich with choices!

Such a beautiful cat! A stray/feral showed up on our doorstep a month ago in -30 c weather. Been feeding it twice a day, but is very skittish-not approachable at all. It's comfort zone is currently 20 feet away from me! I hope to have success with it like you have with yours!
