Hooray for Hostas!

I love Hostas, but I live in a sunny, windy place, and, ultimately, Hostas don't love me. I wasn't really planning to try growing them again, but I found these two at the supermarket nursery last week. They were inexpensive, and looked pretty good, so I decided to try one more time. So far, they seem to like it here... one is already sending up flowers, and the other has shot out an entire new set of leaves. Maybe this time we'll get lucky!

Hostas are one of the most miss understood perennials today. Commonly referred as "shade loving plants" leaving the perception if you don't have any shade then you a hosta is not for you. The truth in the matter is hostas are very hardy and not require much maintenance once established. There are actually hundreds of existing sun tolerant hostas, such as Blaze of Glory; Captain Kirk; Eternal Flame; Fire and Ice; Golden Standard; Paul's Glory; Rising sun; and Touch of Class.
